The Victorian Cemetery

The Friends of the Victorian Cemetery was set up in 2014 by then Deputy Mayor, Councillor Margaret Rose who continues to lead a  small, enthusiastic group of volunteers, supported by Marlborough Town Council's Grounds & Estates Manager.  They clear vegetation, prune shrubs, bulbs and plant wild flowers such as primroses and foxgloves with the aim of preserving and tending a peaceful and lovely part of Marlborough's history.  A focus of the work has been around the Pauper's Grave, a mass grave for those too poor to afford a space of their own.
